Services Fairings crafted for Antique, Late Model, and Experimental Aircraft. Call or email to discuss your needs. Many pieces can be restored rather than replaced. Here, "restored" means that the original part is reshaped and made to conform to its original condition. "Replaced" means a new part is made from new metal. Restored parts are the originals, and can therefore be returned to service. "Replaced" parts are provided to your specific aircraft and serial number, and are therefore considered "local repair." Below are before and after pictures of a replacement stainless steel (!) firewall for a 1929 Kreider-Reisner KR31 biplane. The large hole has a wire bead edge around it!
The rest below are examples of fairings that have been restored (not just replaced!) The next example shows the inside of a top nose bowl from a Piper L4, and under that is the outside of the same:
Below is an example of a restored C180 spinner, before and after!
Below are more before and after examples. Click on the pictures for a larger view. Using original and new metal, this cowling was restored to a "ready to paint" condition using a variety of tools and techniques. This C150 cowl had heavy nose damage, and it is now ready to apply primer and finish! This Taylorcraft nose bowl was so heavily damaged, you can see the imprint of the engine along the top in the left photo - on the right, the metal has been reformed. Please call or email to discuss your fabrication or restoration needs! Training I also provide either classroom or individual training programs for Oxy/Acetyline (gas) and GTAW (TIG) Welding, as well as sheet metal fabrication including English Wheel instruction. Please call or email to discuss Training requirements! |
