Mosquito

The DeHavilland Mosquito was one of the great twin engine fighters to come out of World War II.  Primarly fabricated from non strategic materials (wood) its performance  was superb by any standards.  DeHavilland built many variants of the design including night fighters and ground attack versions.  Because of its speed, a rear gunner was not needed.  This illustration demonstrates several "Mossies" hitting ground targets.
