Spitfire

The Supermarine Spitfire was grace, beauty, and power, but it was also deadly to pilots of the Axis airforces.  This is a machine the pilot nearly straps on due to the nature of the close quarters of the cockpit.  Today it is considered a British treasure to the people who lived through those terrible war years when a hand full of young RAF pilots did battle over England.  Shown is a common variant, with spots reflecting the times.
