During World War II, the P-38 "Lightning" operated over Europe, running up considerable kill ratios. The Luftwaffe pilots coined a phrase describing this adversary as "der gableschwantz tuffell" or " fork tailed devil." That phrase says it all. Illustrated with newspaper reflecting war news.
