C-47 This illustration honors the crew and passengers who went to war in the Douglas C-47 Sky Train. Placed into service by the airline industry in 1936, the C-47 had demonstrated it's worth by the early months of the war. Cargo of every type and description became common as the needs of the military grew. Airborne drops, re-supply, glider tug - the list of its role in the war was seemingly endless. This print illustrates D-Day by honoring the air crews and ground units of that historic event. Order Number 082
