P-51

The North American P-51 Mustang, considered by many fighter pilots to be the finest fighter aircraft of World War II, was nearly rejected when the army first took delivery of their XP-51s.  They quickly reversed opinion after the installation of the British built Merlin engine.  Shown is the personal mount, the Nooki Booki, of Kit Carson of the 357th fighter group.  The original painting has been signed by eight pilots/crew including Kit Carson, Chuck Yeager, Bud Anderson, Tommy Hayes, Pete Peterson and three others.  The signatures appear on 11x17 and 20x30 prints.
