The right aircraft at the right time, the Boeing B-17 was used in every theatre of operations during World War II, but is best remembered for it's countless operations over Europe. Though rugged and well built, hundreds of these heavy bombers failed to return from the daylight missions they took part in. This print illustrates a typical B-17G "Flying Fortress."
