Triplane over Castle

Manfred von Richthofen is seen in this illustration flying low over a castle in France.  The long shadows cast by the early morning sun illustrate the time this mission  took place. The triplane had replaced the Albatross he had grown comfortable flying, but he soon came to love the maneuverability the Fokker possessed.
