I now have a hangar! It was fairly dirty, so I spent two
whole days sweeping, caulking, and scrubbing. After cleaning up, it
looked
like:

The chest of drawers was left by the previous owner, along with a
door frame laying in the back. I've decided to do a little
remodeling while its empty, even though I am quite anxious to move the
plane in. I know myself well enough to know that once I move in,
I'll never want to fix it up.

First, I notched and drilled some 2x6's with bolts onto the purlins.
Then I ran an electrical outlet circuit along the middle one, and bolted
the upright 2x4s to the purlins as well. It took several days to
get this done. The above two pictures were taken during the day
with the door open.

Here,
a lot of work has been done - the pegboard is up along the back wall and
white paneling is hung along the sides. I've run outlets along the
walls and added some 8 foot lights along the paneling. Also, I
painted the trusses white which really added a lot to brighten it
up. It took several days to just to paint those trusses. Also, I've
added some ceiling fans in the middle of the hangar - you can just see
the wire temporarily hanging down on the upper right. Next is to
epoxy the floor.
Here
the floor has been epoxied - I had to put on 2 coats to cover it
well. And yes! The fuselage (on the right)
is now at it's new home. If you compare the top picture with this
one, you can see that painting those trusses and the floor and adding
the white paneling really brightened up the place. The above two
pictures were taken at night. Now, after this 3 week diversion, I
will make a bench and some shelves, and it's time to get back to plane
work!
